12.31.18~Here's To 2019!
2019 is obviously upon us...it's a new year, hopefully of new things. I want to do new things. I want to try new things. I want to sing new songs. Meet new people. etc. etc.
I'm excited to see where 2019 takes me and the special people in my life. I'm looking forward to seeing how God works in and through me! I want Him to use me in any ways He sees fit. I want Him to use my music, my blog, and my youtube channel for His glory. I have some goals and hopes for this next year, and I just wanted to share some of those with you.
So the first thing that I am setting as a goal for 2019 is to simply "trust more. worry less."
I often find myself worrying about all kinds of things, big and small. I want to trust Jesus more and worry a WHOLE LOT less. I don't want to worry about school, church, music, or anything. I want to learn to be more fluid and flexible. I definitely want to just release stress over things and just breathe. I want to be more in the moment and less in the future. This sounds super cliche, but I just want to enjoy life more and just feel better. Worry consumes some much of my life right now and I just want to come out of an agreement with anxiety and fear, and rest in peace and promise with Jesus.
Second, I want to be healthier. This is definitely kind of cliche as well, but it is something I am striving for. I'm not saying I'm gonna be eating kale, cause I probably won't, but I just want to be a healthier me. I don't want how I look to be an obsession. I want to simply eat a little bit healthier and just be active. The less stress and worry I give myself, the healthier I will be too. I want healthy to be a priority. Less stress, less weight obsession, and more good, clean meals.
One thing I want to do in 2019 as well, would be just being free in my music/worship life. I want to feel comfortable singing new things and doing new things. I don't want to hold back anymore. I want to be me and be who Jesus has called me to be and be comfortable in that! I also want to begin to be mentored in the worship leader "world", if you will. I want people who have been there and done that, to teach me and help train me. I want Godly wisdom and knowledge from those people, so that one day I can lead others in worship and praise.
The next thing for 2019, would be to make the word of God my sword. That sounds totally weird probably, but I want to memorize more scripture and use it. Whether I'm feeling scared, alone, excited, content, or whatever I want to know scripture and use it!
The last big goal I have for 2019 is just to grow. I want to grow in faith. I want to grow my relationship with Jesus, first and foremost. I also wanna grow a lot of my friendships and get closer with those people that God has put in my life. I definitely want to grow my relationship with my best friend/boyfriend. I am excited to see where growth takes place in my life in 2019.
Here are some song lyrics that I want to really rely on the words of looking into 2019:
"You called my name, and I ran out of that grave." -Glorious Day, Passion
"What a powerful name it is, nothing can stand against." -What A Beautiful Name, Hillsong
"I have this hope in the depths of my soul, in the flood or the fire, you are with me and you won't let go." -I Have This Hope, Tenth Avenue North
"Fear is a liar." -Fear Is A Liar, Zach Williams
"In Christ alone." -In Christ Alone, Keith and Kristyn Getty
"In oceans deep, my faith will stand. And I will call upon Your name. And keep my eyes above the waves." -Oceans, Hillsong
"Take courage my heart, stay steadfast my soul, He's in the waiting." -Take Courage, Bethel
"I'm no longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God." -No Longer Slaves, Melissa Helser
"Thy will be done." -Thy Will, Hillary Scott
love always,
