1.4.19~Let's Be Godly Women...
"There's a song by Jamie Grace that I absolutely LOVE right now. It's called Daughter Of The King . But I can't help but sing the chorus on days that just get me down, and it goes like this...
"The Maker of skies.
The Maker of seas.
The Maker of every beautiful thing,
He made you.
He made you, too.
The mountain high.
The river wide.
He tells the sun when to set and rise
And He made you,
He made you, too.
You're a daughter of the King.
So tell me, 'What does that make you?'"
I can't help but just find such joy and peace in these words. I certainly think that I discovered this song at the perfect time in my life.
I am honestly so tired of hearing about "feminism" and "girl boss" junk in this world. I have no problem with women wanting the same pay and stuff as men, but it is all a little excessive. I look in the Bible at Proverbs 31 and it talks about being a humble women. being kind. being wise. being gentle.
I get that times are different then they were back then and that women's place in society is different now. But I love to see stay at home moms who love on their families. I look at my own mom, and how she has sacrificed so much to stay home with me and my younger sister and homeschool us. She is such an example of a Proverbs 31 woman and that's far and few between these days.
Women of the world are told to be tough. be coarse. use whatever attitude necessary.
fame and fortune are a must. take everything they'll give. if you've got it, flaunt it. be popular.
We as women of Jesus are called to be different from the world and to stand out. We should be tender. kind. refined. faithful. of virtue. be pure.
Even in my side of culture as a high school girl, I'm told to just be who I am. Even if that means I'm the popular girl boss who thinks she's better. But that is opposite of anything I want to be. I want to be exactly what God has called us to be as women.
I hope this doesn't step on any toes, but I just think that it is important to be tough, but also be gentle and kind, as Jesus has called. I'm not against being ambitious, but being ambitious for the things that God has set before us and called us to.
love always,
Iz💛💛
